EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES IN THE ARTS
Exposure to the arts helps teach children to think creatively, and it also provides the basis for life-long hobbies and, in some cases, careers. Adults also gain satisfaction from participating in the arts. Self-paced instruction in painting or learning how to strum chords to familiar tunes on a guitar can be rewarding and relaxing after a stressful day at work or as a retirement project.
Winnsboro Center for the Arts is committed to providing educational opportunities in the arts for both children and adults. Classes in different paint mediums and styles and music lessons in various instruments such as guitar, piano/keyboard, and voice are offered. In addition, several workshops are held during the year for adults in crafts and folk and fiber arts such as mosaics, basket weaving, and silk dyeing.
There is also the possibility of scheduling classes in stringed instruments and the dramatic arts should there be sufficient interest.
